Abstract
An analysis on macronutrient in compos of bamboo leaves litter and solid waste of sugar factory (blotong). Bioteknologi 12 (2): 46-51. Bamboo leaves litter containshigh P and K macronutrient thereby potential as basic material of compost fertilizer. However bamboo leaves litter have high C/N ratio (35.82 – 38.27). Another material should be added to improve the nutrient content and reduce C/N ratio of bamboo leaves litter. Blotong is solid waste resulting from nira (leek) from sugar factory. Blotong have low C/N ratio 7.28. This research aimed to find out the macronutrient element content of compost resulting from bamboo leaves litter and blotongand to find out the treatment resulting in largest amount of macronutrient element. Bamboo leave litter and blotong were composted using EM4 activator and cow manure. The composition of basic material mix were made with ratio I (1 kg blotong: 1 kg cow manure), II (0.5 kg blotong: 0.5 kg litter: 1 kg cow manure), III (1 kg litter: 1 kg cow manure), IV (1 kg blotong: 50 mL EM4), V (0.5 kg blotong: 0.5 kg litter: 50 mL EM4), and VI (1 kg litter: 50 mL EM4). The macronutrient elements were observed in the last6 weeks composting process. The best result of macronutrient element in the compostwere as follows: C organic=27.79%; organic substance=47.91%; N=2.73%; P2O5=1.95%; K2O=1.88%; C/N ratio=10.18 and water level=24.44%, occurring in the treatment II (0.5 kg blotong: 0.5 kg litter: 1 kg cow manure).
