Abstract

Nasrulloh, Putri LSE, Haris A. 2013. Hydrolysis of acid and enzymatic of starch of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) becomes glucose as substrate of ethanol fermentation. Bioteknologi 10: 51-59. The necessity of fuel oil in Indonesia was increased, while the energy resources were decreased. This condition made government find the alternative energy environmentally friendly and renewable that can substitute fossil energy. The study about the utility of amylolytic microorganism, especially in mold for acidic and enzymatic hydrolysis on starch of sweet potatoes to become sugar. The acidic hydrolysis used 25 mL HCl 0.5 N and the enzymatic hydrolysis used mold of Aspergillus flavus, A. niger and the combination of both. The data were analyzed by using One-Way Analysis of Variance. The results showed that the highest rate of sugar reduction by A. niger was 12.61% (b/v). The highest ethanol obtained with value of 46.37% (v/v) for 72 hours after fermentation.
