Abstract. Sudarmadji, Indarto. 2011. Site identification and mangrove forest potentials of the eastern part of East Java Province. Bonorowo Wetlands 1: 31-36. This research was already conducted from June until November 2009 in the eastern part of East Java Province. The result indicated that the mangrove forests are not dispersed at all beaches, but are mostly located at Banyuwangi and Situbondo districts, while Jember district has only a few. The widest mangrove forests are at Teluk Grajagan, Banyuwangi with approximately 1,359 ha. The mangrove forest of Banyuwangi has 14 species, dominated by Sonneratia alba, and Situbondo has 12 species, dominated by S. alba, then the Jember has 2 species, dominated by Sonneratia caseolaris.
