Abstract

Trizelia, Armon N, Jailani H. 2015. The diversity of entomopathogenic fungi on rhizosphere of various vegetable crops. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 998-1004. The entomopathogenic fungi are one of the biological agents that can be used to control insect pests. Entomopathogenic fungi can be obtained through isolating from various plants rhizosphere. The objective of the research was to obtain entomopathogenic fungi from the rhizosphere of various vegetable crops. The soil samples were taken in Agam and Tanah Datar District, West Sumatera. Purposive sampling method was used. The collection and isolation of entomopathogenic fungi were done using insect bait method. Entomopathogenic fungi were identified up to genus level by observing their macroscopic and microscopic characters. The result showed that there was three genera of entomopathogenic fungi on rhizosphere of various vegetable crops, namely Metarhizium, Beauveria, dan Aspergillus. The highest diversity was obtained on rhizosphere of tomato plants.
