Abstract

Plant productivity depends on the adaptable of the varieties to the environment conditions and characteristics which the plants were cultivated. In Bandung Regency plateau, a mistake to selecting corn varieties caused a low level of corn productivity. Therefore the objective of the assessment was to determine the performance of corn varieties productivity. The assessment was conducted in Citaman Village, Nagreg Sub District Bandung District in November 2013 to February 2014. The assessment used a randomized block design (RBD) with 5 treatment and each repeated 5 times. The treatments used a corn variety: Bima 2, Bima 5, NK 22, Bisma and local varieties with farmers as replications. The results show that no significant differences among new corn varieties productivity (6,290 to 6,632 ton ha-1) but showed significant differences with a local corn productivity (3,716 ton ha-1).
