Greening is a government program launched in a land rehabilitation program in which the critical land area in the region and outside the forest area is increasing. Statistics Department of Forestry reported that the area of degraded land in Indonesia in 2012 has reached 33 million hectares. This critical area focuses on Java and Sumatra. Increasing deforestation, logging of area increased forest on a large scale in the interests of the plantation, mining, agricultural land of moves and other. The need for seed crops in repairing critical lands are facing a national problematic and require of appropriate solutions. One of the contributions LIPI in supporting the greening program is to provide quality crop seeds. The quality of crop seeds can be held through the involvement of national biological fertilizer featured. LIPI currently already has several of collection microbe biological fertilizer products which can be utilized in the procurement of quality crop seeds. One is Fertilizer BIO-LIPI, VAM-fungi mycorrhizae that live symbiosis with plant of roots. Benefits BIO VAM biological fertilizer can stimulate the growth of plant seeds, increases root surface area for the absorption of nutrients and water, increase resistance to water stress, reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and the application is only done once. Some plants were selected in this activity into a plant that will be used later to create a model of urban forest or reforestation programs. The results obtained the response of plant seedling Jabon, jackfruit, greetings, and walnuts ± 100% live while the response to the hard seed such as the seed of the nutmeg and hazelnut approximately 15.5%. No seed was treated specifically so the seed can quickly germinate naturally with the help of biological fertilizer. Treatment damaging of parts of the seed would interfere with plant seedling. Through activities involving the procurement of plant seeds with soil microbes potential elected the basis of national biological fertilizer. LIPI is expected to be able to lift the potential of microbial selection as builder materials biological fertilizer as well as providing material for the show window of a pilot reforestation. LIPI program can be adopted by all the people of Indonesia to assist in the greening program.
