Abstract

Efendi M, Lailaty IQ, Nudin, Rustandi U, Samsudin AD. 2016. Structure and diversity of flora in Mt. Pesagi, Sumatra Island. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 2: 198-207. Mt. Pesagi is a protective forest area in West Lampung District, Province Lampung. The information related to structure and diversity flora in Mt. Pesagi has not been reported. This study was aimed to analyze the richness and diversity of species, as well as their vegetation floristic composition and structure of flora in Mt. Pesagi. The sampling using purposive sampling with sample plots (plot) measuring 10x10 m for trees and 5x5 m for herb and shrub. The results showed that 86 individuals from 35 species of trees and 1205 individuals from 113 species of herb and shrub were be found in sampling plot. Syzygium sp. and Strobilanthes sp. were dominated in the observation area, with IVI 32.78% and 20.75%. The analysis result of diversity index (H '), richness index (Dmg) and evenness Index (E) flora in Mt. Pesagi are very high. Most of the trees have a diameter class from 10.1 cm to 19.9 cm (363.36 trees/ha), with the larger diameter trees (more 60 cm) can be found in Altingia excelsa and Lithocarpus hystrix (18.18 trees/ha). We concluded that Mt. Pesagi has high diversity and balance composition.
