Orchids diversity in Province of Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta Special Region Province has unique ecoregions with a high diversity of orchids. Data collection efforts on orchid species in Yogyakarta need to be done to know the conservation strategy. This study summarizes the list of orchid species of Yogyakarta from Biology Orchid Study Club (BiOSC) Biology Faculty UGM 2015-2017 and other related literature reviews. The diversity of orchid Yogyakarta covers 16.14% of all orchid species found in Java Island and from 6 orchid subfamily in the world, only 5 are found in Yogyakarta. Orchids of Apostasioideae subfamily are not found in this area. Based on data from the IUCN, many of the Yogyakarta orchids whose conservation status has not been evaluated.
